Kinja'd!!!

Because all that stuff will bring my sinusitis back again.

I am now at article 4 of the !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , which is about minimum weight for the entrants. Yesterday !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , which, from my understanding, means sports cars from BMW Z4 bracket up to Mercedes-AMG GT bracket are eligible, and if a make wants the Manufacturer's Trophy for this class on a spec car, there has to be 30 of those cars on the road. Bodywork, the regs said, has to be the same as the actual race car, though I haven't gotten to the specifics yet, from Article 5 onwards.

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

That's where I'm gonna need Dusty's help. I wanna know from someone who has been to rallies as co-driver how all the articles all add up. How much horsepower is estimated? Will they be light or lighter? How many things will change, when, say, I decide to enter a Nissan 370Z in R-GT?

And can they get me to badger KTM to making a rallying X-Bow in case I am too lazy to get the Z34 to spec?

I don't think you can just summon Dusty Ventures. You must be at least lvl. 50 Rally Wizard and have 7500 mana. 7500 mana is a lot.

The R-GT regs are ridiculously confusing, and to understand them 100% you have to be even more of an expert than I. But here's what I can tell you. First, the 30 units thing isn't if you want to go for a Manufacturer's Cup in rally, it's if the car is already built and sold for an FIA Manufacturer's Cup series, like the Porsche Supercup. If the car doesn't already run in one of those series then it needs to be something of which at least 200 road models are made every year.

The second big thing is getting the Technical Passport they mention. This is the process to get the car certified for FIA approval. It's a time-consuming and expensive (as in over $1,000 IIRC) process that requires taking numerous detailed photos and filling out pages of forms, then sending it off to the FIA and waiting weeks in the hopes they'll sign off on it.

As for vehicle specifics, power depends on the weight of the car (power/weight ratio is limited to 3.4 kg/hp). So if your car is 1000 kg then you can have 295 hp, if the car's 1500 kg then you can have 440, etc.

Whoo. Thanks for the assist, TFritch .

Thanks, Dusty, for at least getting as far as you can. Made me search which cars can get in, though I think a Ginetta can be a good start.
